Based on the Daily Weather Forecast issued by PAGASA dated March 2, 2021, at 4:00AM, the Easterlies/Localized Thunderstorms is still affecting Visayas and Mindanao Islands.  This may bring cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms throughout Davao Region resulting in possible flasfloods and landslides.

Anent to this a recent mass washing incident was reported to have occurred last March 1, 2021 in Purok 22, Barangay Mt. Diwata, Monkayo Davao de Oro.  This slope failure resulted to casualties and damages.  MGB-XI already coordinated with the BLGU and Local DRRMO and is currently conducting ground verification and assessment of the area and its vicinity.

In relation to his, the DENR-MGB XI reiterates our recommendations to the Local Government Units, Local Disaster Risk Reduction, and Management Councils as wwell as the communities to be vigilant and regularly monitor the weather disturbance and its potential effect in their respective Areas of Responsibility.

Moreover, areas identified by this Office as highly to very highlyl susceptible to flood and landslide should also be closely monitored during heavy and/or continuous rainfall and immediate reolocation of residents should be undertaken by the concerned LGUs.
