The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office XI welcomes its new Engineer V in the person of Engr. Brenice Ann M. Gendeve-Castillo who took her virtual Oath of Office on October 12, 2021. The said oath was administered by no less than the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy A. Cimatu.
Engr. Castillo’s track record shows her professional involvement in both government and private practice as a Mining Engineer. She started her career working in several private mining companies as Grade Control Supervisor and Tenement Officer, and then joined and worked with MGB Central Office for almost 10 years at the Mining Tenements Management Division and for three (3) years as the Section Chief of the Monitoring and Technical Service of the Mine Management Division at MGB XIII. Further, she is an Accredited Competent Person for Mining by the Philippine Society of Mining Engineer and she was also part of the academe as Mining Engineer Professor and Board Reviewer for Geology at Adamson University.
“Her addition to MGB XI will help to ensure that all mining tenement or permit concerns are promptly addressed and acted upon, as part of our public service commitment in the management of country’s mineral resources,” says Atty. Jasper Albert H. Lascano, Regional Director of MGB XI.
Engr. Castillo was appointed as the Chief of Mine Management Division that undertakes initial evaluation of mining and mining related applications, monitoring of disposition and utilization of mineral lands and resources, and survey of mineral lands.
