The Mindanao Association of Mining Engineers (MAEM) will hold its 26th Annual Mining Symposium on September 5-7, 2019 with the theme “IT TAKES A MINE TO BUILD A ROAD” at the Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MCM) Campus in Davao City. This year’s event will bring together the closely knitted community of mining professionals working in the different sectors of the society such as energy, academe, NGO’s, LGUs, environment, construction and minerals development to discuss and ensure its active role in nation building particularly the “Build, Build, Build” program of the government.
The mining engineers are mostly working in providing the raw materials in the construction, steel making and energy industries which is considered as the backbone of the country’s economy. They are continuously updated with the latest innovations through the conferences hosted by MAEM, one of the oldest and dynamic organizations of mining engineers in the country.
The three-day event will include the symposium proper and technical paper presentations for the Continuing Program for Development (CPD), renewal of the PRC licenses, the oath taking of the newly passed mining engineers, induction of the MAEM Members and new Competent Person (CP) – Mining Engineering Category, exhibits, and sports tournaments such as golf and basketball
