Annually, all the geologists of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau from the Central and Regional Offices convene in order to discuss matters in relation to Geosciences Division operations, accomplishments, targets and other important matters. This year, the 2014 Geoscience Workshop was held last February 3 to 7 at Tagbilaran City, Bohol Province. The delegates were accommodated at Bohol Tropics courtesy of MGB CO. The first two days of the workshop was focused on reporting of 2013 accomplishments of the geosciences division of all the regional offices as well as all sections of the lands geological services division of the central office.  Status of the National Geohazard Mapping program was also reported by LGSD Chief Sevillo David, Jr. while other issues and concerns were also raised during the forum. Part of the workshop was the planned excursion done on the last day to some geological sites particularly the Maribojoc Uplifted Reef Flats, the shattered churches caused by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake, Sagbayan Collapsing Sinkholes and Spalling Hillock and the Inabanga  Rupture Zone presently named the North Bohol Fault.
