The Mines and Geosciences Bureau RXI will be hosting the 13th National Convention of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Employees Association, Inc. (MGBEA) on November 4 to 8, 2014 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City.
Agenda will include discussion of topics promoting the social and economic well being of the members as well as protecting and upholding the individual and collective rights of all members, e.g. selection of MGBEAs health maintenance organization provider, Collective Negotiations Agreement (CNA), ratification of the Amended Constitution, among others.
The MGBEA was organized in 1988 after the reorganization of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau during the time of former Pres. Corazon C. Aquino. It believes in unity and solidarity as key to success, hence, it has allied itself with other public sector unions and organizations such as KALIKASAN, an affiliation of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and COURAGE, a national organization of government employees.
The event will be attended by all members and officers of the MGB regional/chapter organizations from all over the country and will have speakers from government agencies such as the Civil Service Commission. The participants will also be enjoying a tour to selected tourism destinations in Davao City such as the Malagos Garden Resort, Philippine Eagle Center and Davao Crocodile Park.
