The Mines and Geosciences Bureau RXI conducted a rapid inspection on the translational slide that occurred in Purok 10, Brgy. Mt. Diwata, Monkayo, Davao de Oro on February 11, 2020 at 4:00 in the morning. A team was immediately dispatched to conduct an inspection in the affected area.

The flash report that the team submitted to the Office states that the assessed area is situated along the midslope of a southwest trending ridge underlain by loosely compacted soil. The said incident occurred after continuous heavy rain in the area.

Translational landslide was defined as a mass that slides downward and outward on top of an inclined planar surface.

One fatality was reported whose house was directly hit by the debris material.

The affected house is located adjacent to the steep slope terrain.
