The Mines and Geosciences Bureau RXI conducted last August 8 an information dissemination on climate change and geohazard with bantay bukid volunteers and forest rangers who are members of the Interfacing Development Intervention, Inc. (IDIS) at the barangay hall of Brgy. Tawantawan, Toril District, Davao City.

IDIs is a non-government organization whose main advocacy is to protect the forests and watersheds. Its office is located in Davao City and members include the bantay gubat volunteers and forest rangers who are tasked to protect and coordinate with the local government units in protecting the environment. 

About seventy members of IDIS attended the one day lecture. Officials and functionaries of Brgy. Tawantawan were also present as the lecture include discussion on the result of the geohazard assessment conducted in Brgy. Tawantawan showing the geohazard vulnerability per purok.
