The Mines and Geosciences Bureau R-XI (MGB) OIC-Chief of Geosciences Division Ms. Beverly Mae Brebante shared her expertise by giving a presentation on “Preparedness Measures and Hazard Risk Assessment for Landslide and understanding Geohazards”. The session aimed on providing basic knowledge on Geohazards and Vulnerabilities to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) personnel during the “Orientation on RA 10121 and Understanding Hazard on Disaster” on July 12-14, 2017.

Moreover, importance of conducting risk assessment as well as the methods in doing the said activity was also given.  It was emphasized that results of such assessment will be useful for DSWD programs in terms of relief and recovery stages by identifying priority areas based on identified sites with most population exposed as moderate to high risk in terms of geologic hazards.
